Sublimation-compatible satin ribbon on a roll

White polyester satin ribbon, glossy on both sides, delivered on a roll. White polyester receives the transfer directly by sublimation, so the ribbon is personalized with a name, logo or repeating design לאורך the entire length. Available in three widths: 1 cm, 2 cm and 5 cm.

Why white and why polyester

Sublimation does not adhere to cotton and does not show on colored substrate. White polyester satin ribbon is the combination that delivers clean colors and true contrast. A decorative colored ribbon remains only an accessory, not a print substrate. Here you have both roles in the same product: it is used as a simple ribbon for packaging or it is personalized and becomes a finished product.

How it is sublimated, step by step

1Print the design mirrored on sublimation paper, on a strip slightly wider than the ribbon, so it also covers the edges.

2Stretch the ribbon on paper and secure it with heat-resistant tape at both ends. If it remains loose, stripes and unsublimated areas appear.

3Press at 180 degrees, 110 seconds, medium pressure, with a sheet of Teflon or a regular sheet of paper on top to protect the satin.

4Peel off the paper while the ribbon is still hot and let the ribbon cool while stretched out, not wrapped on the roll.

Pro tip

Do a test on 20 cm of ribbon before you start production. Satin reacts differently from thick textiles: above 200 degrees it develops uneven shine and can become stiff, while below 180 the color comes out washed out. For designs that repeat, print the strips lengthwise on the A4 sheet and cut them with a cutter; you use the paper much more efficiently than with one strip per sheet.
